Solitude

Solitude

Copyright 2004 Amie Marie Holloway

Somewhere in the mountain mist

Above social reality

Only My thoughts and dreams exist

Alone and separate from all else

Free from the views of the fatalist

Leave me to myself

The roads of fantasy emerge

As whims, dreams of my heart

At some distant point they converge

Together, forming Paradise

And I feel Utopia’s urge

Leave me to myself

I find little to upset me

Beyond the mental bounds

I do not want your Normandy

I wish to be free and of my own

Under my own decree

Leave me to myself
